I blogged last about how we each have a responsibiliy to restore our Catholic faith. We can debate Latin Mass/Novus Ordo Mass (why not both?) all we want, but it really boils down to what our Lord taught us and the sacraments He left for us. Do we participate in the Mass? Do you believe in the transubstantiation of the bread into the Body of our Lord? Do you recognize His Real Presence in the Eucharistic Celebration?
We need to start with our children. Teach them. It's not just Father Soandso's job to teach our kids the faith...it's our's too. More so than Fr. Soandso and Sr. Whatzername. If you don't know it well enough, then learn together. You know the old saying "a family that prays together stays together"? Same holds true for learning about our One, True Faith. Get your bible, blow off the dust, dig out the Catechism (you know, the thing that's keeping the bookshelf in your basement steady) and also read a few books on a saint or two (go to the library or see if your parish has a library). Pray the rosary - TOGETHER! Households with teenagers will have a harder time than those with little ones, but it can be done....trust me on this one.
You won't be sorry. What we do now will build and strengthen our Church in the years to come. A strong church is not just brick and mortar, but also flesh and blood! Do your part today!!

2011 Blog postings
My Friends - I hope to blog more this year. I have moved from my home in Georgia to Sunny Florida all in the pursuit of happiness that is capitalism and opportunity.
We have spent the last 6 months getting established and found a great church community, which we love, and our kiddies are liking their schools.
One of the things I want to focus on is our Catholic faith, and the poor job we have done to evangelize our faith over the last 50 or so years. We have let Hollywood, the media, Protestants and scandal define our faith and we must stop this now. The first thing we have to do is learn more about who we are. Read the Gospels. Jesus was the founder of our Church, we should have an idea of who he is and what he wants us to do. Read books on the saints. Why? Because they lived the Gospel the way our Lord wanted. Some were martyred for their choice to do so. We are all called to be saints, we need to live like saints. Where do we start? With ourselves. Then our households. Then our parishes. Then our communities. Then our nation. Then the world! St. Francis said to preach the Gospel at all times, and if necessary, use words....what are you going to do to help your Church this year and beyond?
Until next time!
